Jetion Solar Supplies 221 MW Solar Modules to Europe's Largest Unsubsidized PV Project

Jetion Solar (China) Co., Ltd. (the “Company” or “Jetion Solar”), one of the world's leading professional PV manufacturer, recently announced that the company is working with WElink Energy, Europe's largest energy management company, to supply 221 MW solar modules to a large scale PV project named “Solara4” which is located in Vaqueiros, Portugal.

The 221 MW "Solara4" project will be powered by more than 661,000 pieces of Jetion Solar’s JT325-340PAg polycrystalline solar modules. Jetion Solar has started shipments in the fourth quarter of 2018. Meanwhile, China National Building Materials Group Corporation (CNBM) will be in charge of the design, procurement and construction (EPC) of the entire project. This project is expected to power more than 150,000 households with clean energy, and offset more than 500,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide each year. It is reported that the project installation will be completed by May 2019, and will be officially connect to the grid in September 2019.

Zhao Honglei, SVP of Jetion Solar (China) Co., Ltd. commented: “Jetion Solar is very pleased to cooperate with WElink Energy, and promote renewable energy in Portugal and Europe. This cooperation has further expanded the market share of Jetion Solar in Europe, and also consolidated our leading position. In the future, we will continue to provide clean, economical and reliable solar energy to our customers in Europe and around the world."

It is worth mentioning that after the completion of the “Solara4” project, it will become the largest unsubsidized solar power project in Europe. At present, Portugal and Spain have become the leaders of the non-subsidy markets in Europe. With rapid decline of the system cost, the price of solar energy is becoming more and more competitive. The construction of the “Solara4” project signifies that the industrial-scale solar energy has entered a mature stage and can be profitable without government subsidies.

Eduardo Aguilar, Director of Development Iberia Area of Project Manager of WElink Energy commented: “The construction of the “Solara4” solar project is the result of many months of teamwork. Jetion Solar is our indispensable partner and they have provided excellent products and services. This unsubsidized Portuguese project is part of our long-term development strategy and we are seeking more opportunities in the Iberian region."
